1. Lubricated Flexible Couplings
Flexible couplings are used to transmit torque from one shaft to another when the two shafts are slightly misaligned. Flexible couplings can accommodate varying degrees of misalignment. Flexible couplings are designed to transmit torque from one shaft to another. This is accomplished while compensating for some radial, axial and angular misalignment. They can accommodate up to a few degrees of angular misalignment and some parallel misalignment.
Chain Couplings
Chain couplings offer a rugged yet lightweight and economical method for connecting two shafts. Chain couplings offer a rugged yet lightweight and economical method for connecting two shafts. Consist of two sprockets connected by a length of standard double roller chain, permitting easy installation, alignment and maintenance.
Browning Chain Couplings
Chain couplings offer a rugged yet lightweight and economical method for connecting two shafts.
Browning® Delrin Chain Couplings

Grid Couplings
A grid coupling consists of two flanged hubs with slots or grooves in the flanges, connected by a serpentine mechanical flexible element.
Jaure® RECORD Grid Couplings
This coupling is made up by two discs that get wider towards the coupling’s centre. Also, they have carved slots for the spring or the flexible element. The spring is maintained and protected by a metallic crankcase full of special grease.
Kop-Flex® Kop-Grid® Grid Couplings
KOP-GRID® tapered grid couplings are your best choice in protecting your investment in expensive driving and driven equipment. It is protected from misalignment, shock loads, and vibration, while accommodating reasonable shaft end float.
Jaure Gear Couplings
Jaure offers the widest range of gear couplings, with no limit in sizes. These meet the needs of the most demanding applications. Special solutions are normally based on the use of special seals and alloyed steels subjected to surface hardening treatments, such as:
• Nitriding
• Case carburizing
• Induction hardening
Jaure MT Marine Gear Couplings
Jaure has over 30 years of technical experience in supplying custom made couplings for the marine industry.
Jaure® MT Gear Couplings
The Jaure MT gear coupling is a steel double-jointed coupling that accommodates the misalignment through the sliding of the mating gears. The coupling is torsionally stiff.
Jaure GS Gear Spindles
Jaure® gear spindles are specially designed for mill applications. Specifically, mill applications where driving and driven components are necessarily misaligned. Also where the type of service dictates a changeable amount of misalignment.
One of the more common applications for gear spindles is for ferrous and non-ferrous rolling mills drives. This is where technology is applied to achieve a higher product quality with lower maintenance costs.
Modern rolling mills and revamping of old mills require new developments, such as:
-
New machine design concepts
-
Superior metallurgical practices
-
Application of process control
-
Automation
Jaure® Barrel Couplings (TCB® TCB-HD)
The barrel coupling consists of a sleeve and a hub having same tooth profiles. A series of hardened steel cylindrical barrels are inserted in the holes formed by this hub and sleeves toothing to act as power transmission elements.
Jaure® TCB® barrel couplings connect the cable drum with the gearbox output shaft. They are recommended for installation in:
-
crane lifting mechanisms
-
winch conveyors
- platform hoists
A statically indeterminate case exists when a gearbox output shaft is rigidly connected to the drum in a lifting mechanism. This type of mounting requires special care in alignment and leveling, which is difficult to achieve in the practice.
The barrel coupling is installed between the gearbox and cable drum. It performs the function of an articulated joint. This makes the connection statically determinate and avoids the occurrence
of high bending moments.
Kop-Flex Standard Gear Couplings
KOP-FLEX® offers the widest array of gear coupling products in the industry. Every type of KOP-FLEX® gear coupling has specific features related to performance, interchangeability, and price.

Jaure® LAMIDISC® Disc Couplings
Jaure LAMIDISC® disc couplings provide a reliable transmission of mechanical power from driving to driven machines. They provide compensation for axial, angular and radial misalignment.
LAMIDISC® couplings utilize unitized disc packs with 6, 8 and 10 bolts. More torque can be transmitted with a higher number of bolts. Conversely, few bolts is associated with a smaller misalignment.
The Jaure® LAMIDISC® couplings can also be fitted with overload bushings which also serve as an anti-flail device.
Kop-Flex® KD® Disc Couplings
KD Series of flexible shaft couplings provides reliable transmission of mechanical power. This can be applied where a low maintenance, non-lubricated coupling is required.
KD® Disc Couplings are specifically designed to accommodate general purpose drive system applications. These include the following:
-
Centrifugal Pumps
-
Compressors
-
Generators
-
Cooling towers
-
Machine tools
-

-
Printing machines
- Pulp & Paper machines
KD Couplings transmit torque. They also provide for angular and axial misalignment between shafts with a specific configuration. That configuration is comprised of shaft-mounted hubs connected through flexible disc packs with spacer or sleeve assemblies.

7. Coupling Components and Accessories
Kop-Flex developed greases especially for use as shaft coupling lubricants. Kop-Flex® offers greases with special qualities. Most commercial grease formulations will not ensure adequate performance and are not ideal coupling lubricants.
KHP and KSG greases uses polyethylene thickeners. They have a density closer to that of oil. This makes them less susceptible to separation. Heavier thickeners and additives can separate and migrate into the gear teeth or other working parts. This process displaces the lubricating oils from where they are most needed.
Waverly Torque Lube-A was developed to solve the special lubrication problems of relatively low speed, highly loaded gear spindle couplings used extensively in metal rolling mills.

4. Bevel and Miter Gearing
Morse Miter and Browning bevel right angle reducers providing ratio ranges from 1:1 to 3:1 depending on model and brand selected.
Bevel and miter gearing is a form of gearing in which the tooth-bearing surfaces are the faces of the gears rather than the edges. In bevel and miter gearing, the gears are cone shaped. This
allows the edges of the mating gears to mesh and transmit torque. The geometry of the mesh creates a 90 degree angle. As a result, this type of gearing is suitable for applications where a change
of direction is required. Other designs exist to create other angles however 90 degrees serves the majority of applications. In bevel and miter gearing the input and output shaft are
intersecting. It is typical for bevel and miter gear reducers to have lower reduction ratios. For example, 5:1 and lower are typical and they are different than other types of
gearing.
